technologies of the gendered body

I thought that the main argument of this weeks text was how women are looked at in different situations and how they are compared to a man. Another arguement is how when you take away sexual organs and the mind male and females are in a sense the same.

-Does your gender identify who you truly are?
-I thought it was very interesting when Balsamo described males and females to essentially be the same with out our sexual organs and our minds, and that the main difference is that females have a uterus and which makes them only good for baby making.
-When it comes to gender identity I think that it doesn't neccesarly matter what environment you were born up in but other factors make up if you feel like you are a male or female such as an imbalance of hormones.
-I found some of Balsamo's writting to be very confusing since she seems to contradict herself often and not make herself entirely clear with her feelings and thoughts.
-This text left me with allot of question about gender identity and how we as humans look at the roles of males and females in the everyday world.
