A) An overarching theme I see in Balsamo, Bridges, and Link is the replacement or devalue of the human body. In each reading the body became something less then human, but something more desireable then the flawed existing body.
B) New terms: 1) Postmodern Identity, 2) scientific biopower, 3) technocratic policy
C) One thing I found very thought provoking comes from both the Bridges and Link readings. According to both Authors, German society becomes overwhelmed with science and making the human beings perfect ergo the Halecaust. So my thought becomes; what is so fundamentally lacking, it seems, in the human mind that our bodies are not good enough and must be replaced? Why do we dehumanize ourselves in order to make us "more" perfect in the male gaze, and in turn loose our human identity to gain the identity of a cyborg?
